A Plenty of Fish dating site review

There are thousands upon thousands of online dating sites out on the interwebs.  Yet there is one that has grown to be incredibly large and well known, and that is the Plenty of Fish dating site.

In the past year alone Plentyoffish.com has grown past industry behemoths like Match.com, eHarmony, and AmericanSingles.   One of the reasons for this is that the site is absolutely free.  Unlike the paid online dating services, Plenty of Fish, is a bare bones ugly yet completely cost free.  This is the brillance behind the site owner, Markus Frind, who basically started the dating service as a simple project to learn who to code in ASP .Net.   And since it's inception, the site has become it's own behemoth sporting millions of dating profiles.

Though PlentyofFish is one of the biggest dating sites it is certainly not perfect.  It has both it's advantages and disadvantages.  Obviously the one big advantage being that its free and there is plenty of people in the sea of profiles.  This makes it both convenient and for some hopefully better odds at finding a date.

One of the disadvantages is that because people don't have to pay to use the site, it often attracts many casual daters and or simply browsers.  These are the people who are more unlikely to be active users on the site, and who are least likely to respond to messages.  Unfortunately, this causes extra work for the more serious users who are looking for dates.  If they spend all their time contacting and messaging casual users who don't respond back then all this does is frustrate those that make the site worth the effort.  It really turns into a matter of quantity versus quality and for those people looking for a high end quality dating site may want to steer clear.

On the other hand, if you are well versed at the online dating game and can come into Plenty of Fish with some solid game, then it's quite possibly for someone to have a great online dating experience.
